Welcome from President
- Our department
is trying to be a supports producing
the world’s top nano-composites leaders.
- The department of Nano Engineering, which was established in 2018, consider a graduate school
(SAINT, SKKU Advanced Institute of Nano Technology) established in 2005 to nurture specialists
in the fields of nano-fabrication and fusion as matrix. SAINT, which started as korea's first fusion
research center, has been recognized as the world's eighth most advanced nano-fusion research
institute since its establishment in 2005. Through the support of fusion researches of professors
in various department, SAINT is securing the best source technology regarding two-dimensional
nano-materials including graphene in korea. (Ranked 1st in the world of graphene patents,
selected in BK21 plus program 2014 / 1st re-selected in BK21 plus program 2016) Based on these
global R&D research capabilities, the department of nano engineering was newly established
as an undergraduate course in 2018 in order to become an educational institution capable of
cultivating creative and leader-type nano-compositing experts capable of leading the start-up.
- To nurture these global talents, we will establish a world-class nano-fusion multi-disciplinary
curriculum that encompasses theoretical principles and practical application technologies in the
field of education. Also, we will activate R&D projects, global field practice programs,
entrepreneurial mindsets and link of technology industrialization. The department of nano
engineering is composed of 10 faculty members with various majors (2 material engineering,
2 physics, 4 chemical engineering, 1 chemistry, 1 electronics). Based on various educational and
research experiences, we are going to educational institute for “talent training of
multi-disciplinary global science and technology talent training in nano-fusion field“.
Students who majored in nano engineering can be active as professors, professional
researchers, and founding CEOs in fields such as nanoelectronics, nanoenergy, nanophysics,
nanobiotechnology and nanomedicine.
- The department of nano engineering is working to successfully achieve the world’s top
nano-fusion multi-disciplinary education institutions, world-class creative research
achievement, global leading start-up and creating future new industry by the establishment of
a specialized curriculum, the enhancement of the research capacity of department professors
and the improvement of the department.
